Photoshop
Here you will learn how to manipulate and play with images in various ways.
Now that you know what the selection tools (Marquee, Lasso and Wand), Masks, and Content Aware Fill can do. We can combine them to do creative things.
First step, I selected my face.
Masked out my face.
Painted my eyes, lips, and part of my head.
On a new layer, I used a burnt timber texture, cut out a piece with a mask and placed it on my head.
With the brush tool selected, right click to access brush size and hardness. A large, soft brush blends nicely. Painted black to blend where my head and the burnt part meet.
New Layer. Wood Texture.
Layer Mask.
Blending mode. Overlay.
I added noise to the wood texture layer to make it look more grainy. (Filter>Noise>Add Noise) Note: this is considered destructive editing. Once I save, I can't go back to "un-noise" my wood layer.
New Layer. Add Fire.
Mask. Blend with paintbrush on the mask.
